Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) — Ink Rush Transfers
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) — Ink Rush Transfers
Ordering & General
What is DTF (Direct-to-Film) printing?
DTF is a heat transfer process where your design is printed onto a special PET film, powdered with adhesive, cured, and then heat-pressed onto garments. It works on most fabrics (cotton, poly, blends) and produces vibrant, durable, full-color prints.
How do I place an order?
Choose your product (gang sheet, single transfer, or builder), upload artwork, select your size/quantity, then checkout. You’ll get an order confirmation email right away.
Is there a minimum order?
No minimums — order one transfer or bulk quantities.
Do you offer bulk/wholesale pricing?
Yes. If you’re ordering consistently or placing high-volume orders, contact us for wholesale pricing and partner rates.
Can I order samples first?
Yes. We recommend sampling a design before committing to a large run.
Artwork & File Requirements
What file types do you accept?
PNG is recommended. We also accept JPG, PDF, AI, EPS, PSD, and SVG (best results come from high-quality files).
What’s the best file setup for DTF?
-
300 DPI (or higher)
-
Transparent background (PNG)
-
Sized to your final print size
-
Clean edges (avoid blurry screenshots)
Do you fix artwork or clean up files?
We can help with simple adjustments like resizing, background removal, or file conversion. For complex edits or redesigns, you may need graphic design services.
Will my colors print exactly like my screen?
Screens vary. For the closest match, use high-resolution artwork and avoid neon-only color expectations (DTF prints vibrant, but monitor colors can differ).
Products: Gang Sheets vs Singles
What is a DTF gang sheet?
A gang sheet is one printed sheet that contains multiple designs. You cut them apart and press as needed. It’s the most cost-effective option for multiple prints.
What are single transfers?
Single transfers are printed as individual designs in the size you choose. They’re convenient and ready to press with no cutting.
Which should I choose?
-
Choose gang sheets if you want the best cost per print and you’re printing multiple designs/sizes.
-
Choose single transfers if you want convenience and fast “ready-to-press” handling.
Can I mix multiple designs on one gang sheet?
Yes — mix designs, sizes, and quantities on the same sheet.

Pressing Instructions (DTF)
What heat press settings should I use?
A common starting point:
-
Temperature: 300–320°F
-
Time: 10–15 seconds
-
Pressure: Medium to firm
(Always test—presses and garments vary.)
Do I need to pre-press my garment?
Yes. Pre-press 3–5 seconds to remove moisture and wrinkles for better adhesion.
Hot peel or cold peel?
Follow the finish you ordered: [HOT PEEL / COLD PEEL]. If you’re unsure, check your product page or packing slip.
Should I do a second press?
Yes, recommended. After peeling, cover with parchment/Teflon and press another 5–10 seconds to lock in durability and reduce shine.
Can I press with a household iron?
A heat press is strongly recommended. An iron may work in emergencies, but results can be inconsistent due to uneven heat/pressure.
How long do DTF transfers last?
With correct pressing and garment care, DTF prints are made to last through many washes without cracking or peeling.
How should I wash garments after pressing?
-
Wait 24 hours before first wash (recommended)
-
Wash inside-out
-
Cold water preferred
-
Tumble dry low
-
Avoid bleach and high heat
Troubleshooting
My transfer isn’t sticking — what happened?
Most common causes:
-
Not enough pressure
-
Temp too low
-
Not enough time
-
Moisture in garment (skipped pre-press)
-
Incorrect peel timing (hot vs cold)
My print looks dull or under-pressed
Increase pressure slightly, confirm actual platen temperature, and consider adding a second press.
Edges are lifting
Increase pressure, ensure flat garment surface, pre-press, and use correct peel timing.
